A Brief Intermission
We’ve got big, bittersweet news.
Casa Vieja Lodge is going on a teeny, tiny hiatus—but only for a couple of months!!
From July 6th through October 15th we’re putting a hard stop to all lodge operations for a little renovation; but we promise, it’s for the best!
Once we open back up, Casa Vieja Lodge is going to be bigger, bolder, and better than ever!
So, what does this mean for you, angler? Honestly…not much! All other Casa Vieja Lodge business—Tradeshows, your favorite fishing photos on social media, monthly newsletters—will keep running per usual. You’ll hardly even notice a change!
HOWEVER, once we resume normal service after October 15th, you’re going to be in awe of the upgrades we’ve made. We’re talking things like a 2nd floor on our Tiki, a swim-up pool bar, new rooms, and so much more! And although things may look a little different, we promise we’ll still be the same ol’ Casa Vieja Lodge you know and love at our heart.
We can’t wait for you to see the new and improved Casa Vieja Lodge—Coming Soon! For now, check out some of these gorgeous architectural renderings for the future of the lodge below!
Ready for an Expedition?
Two questions: Do you think there’s any improvement you could make in your angling game? And, do you want to go on an adventure?
If you answered “Yes” to even one of those questions, may we introduce you to a fun little excursion we host here at the lodge called Marlin Expeditions!
Our friends over at Marlin Magazine are hosting one of our favorite events, not one, not two, but THREE times with us this year at Casa Vieja Lodge; complete with a fully planned, action-packed itinerary. This week is the perfect opportunity for any anglers looking to hone their craft or even learn a whole new set of skills!
With 4 full days of hands-on, expert training in billfishing, and a fun mini “tournament” to put any of your newly acquired skills to the test—this is one fun week you’re not going to want to miss! On this expedition, you’ll learn skills like how to target various billfish species and other gamefish along Guatemala’s Pacific coast, learn (or perfect) your dead-bait, pitch-bait, and angling techniques with advice from expert-level instructors, plus so much more.
If this sounds like fishing heaven to you—we know it does to us—then click on any one of the dates below that work for your schedule!

Where to Watch Us
In case you missed it, we’ve been hot hot hot on your TV screens recently!
Our Jefa, Kristen Salazar was on Florida Insider Fishing Report‘s very special Sailfish episode earlier this month!
Kristen sits down with Capt. Rick Murphy to talk all things Sailfishing, the Lodge, and teases some big updates coming soon. In addition to that, we were so honored to be featured recently in, not one, but two remarkable Local Knowledge shows!
Season 9 episode 9 is their Return to Casa Vieja Lodge episode; while episode 10 is a very special David Salazar tribute, where the Local Knowledge crew dives back in time with some special clips and pictures from past trips and episodes.
