Don’t lie to us…how much FOMO did you have watching all the fun we had for Mother’s Day and Father’s Day Weekends at the Lodge? Champagne toasts on the boat first thing in the morning, beautiful flower arrangements, custom hat making, specially engraved CVL Yeti’s…and that was just Mothers Day weekend! Fathers Day weekend was a whole other set of fun, including little touches like adorable handmade cards in every room, massages after long days of fishing, plus so much more… And that’s not even the tip of the iceberg when it comes to a little competitive fishing with us. If you’ve never fished a tournament at Casa Vieja Lodge, you’re in for the weekend of a lifetime! Fall Fishing FTW!
As we really start taking off into Fall 2025, now is your chance to do something before ANYONE ELSE—come stay, play and fish the freshly renovated Casa Vieja Lodge! If you’ve never fished a Fall season with us before, you’re in for a real treat! Here’s the thing, we’re a Sailfishing lodge, duh, everyone knows that. But what some people may not know is just how many sailfish we release during October, November and December…We see Pacific Sailfish all year round of course, but in Fall: we’re talking double and even triple hookups from October through through the New Year—still don’t believe us?? Just check out some of the pictures from last year’s fall fishing reports below! All sailfish aside, let’s talk marlin. Is striped marlin on your bucket list? Well, guess what? In Mid-October through November is when we really start seeing our striped marlin pop up! Last year we had up to 6 striped marlin raises, in one single day. As for our beloved blue marlin, those guys are jumping up all over the place come beginning of October! Last but never, ever least, once we start getting to the end of November, and starting in December you’ll have a much greater chance of hooking your dream black marlin! Of course, billfish are great, but what about lunch: specifically—your mahi mahi haul. It’s true, we see incredible mahi mahi number all year long; however, once we start getting deep into these autumn months, you may hook more mahi than you’ve ever even dreamed possible! True story: sometimes the Yeti is so full, we have to break mahi off the lines because there’s simply no more room on board for any more!! And last but never least, while they are more rare in the fall months, there’s always a chance you’ll hook a delicious tuna—if you do, be sure to ask for some freshly prepared sashimi when you get back to the lodge! And if all of those fishing opportunities don’t sound like the most fun already, come spend your Thanksgiving or New Years with us! Yes—we do a real, traditional Thanksgiving dinner in Guatemala! Save yourself the hassle and the headache of the holidays this year…Or, come countdown to the New Year with us, silly hats, noisemakers and fireworks included!!
