Winter is Here
Our winter is much better than yours! With an average of 89 degrees at Casa Vieja Lodge, the only things that are cold are your tropical drinks, and your rooms to reset and relax in! Striped Marlin have been making appearances, which means more chances at a Grand Slam, three different billfish species in a single day, and we can’t get away from the Mahi-Mahi! Batter’s up!
Let’s take a moment to congratulate our anglers that reserved their winter fishing getaways, at least 6 months in advance! Please secure your dates a year in advance, por favor! We can’t give you the dates you want if we don’t have them, but we can definitely save future dates for you.
LOOKING FOR PRESENTS? Book a trip, with a paid deposit, and in addition, we’ll send you a shirt to surprise your fisherman!

Talking Story
Capt. David has been purchasing Mold Craft lures from Frank Johnson for years. When his father, Frank Sr passed, he made limited edition lures with his ashes which David was honored to receive. Needless to say, aboard The Hooker this season, the marlin have gone straight to this teaser a handful of times, even David is amazed! HERE‘s a great article from Marlin Magazine about Mold Craft’s Legacy in Sportfishing.

Guatemala Fishing Report
Big CONGRATS to Daniel & Tiffany who got engaged while fishing on the Afinity, plus in 3 days of fishing they released 41 sailfish, 1 marlin, 2 tuna, and 10 mahi mahi. How can a girl say no to that? And what a LUCKY man to have a fishing partner for life!
Coming off a great November, December has been amazingly consistent with just about everyday double-digit releases.
