Hook & Harvest 2023
Our inaugural Hook and Harvest event was nothing short of a huge success. With the Ike Jime Florida Team and the culinary expertise of Chef Hiro Terada and Chef Michael Collantes, our guests were treated to an unforgettable experience.
Each angler had the unique opportunity to learn about the art of Ike Jime, an ancient Japanese fish preservation method, an innovative technique that brings out the best in our fresh catches. Aboard the boats, Clients got hands-on training in brain spiking, cutting gills, and inserting the thin wire into their catch. In the evenings, they learned how to filet their catch (snapper, grouper, tuna, mahi), and cut their fish for the best presentation and appetizing manner, along with a few easy recipes.
The event showcased the incredible talent of our chefs and also deepened our appreciation for sustainable and responsible fishing practices. We can’t wait to share more unforgettable moments like these with our clients in the future, and maybe see some familiar faces again next June for our 2nd annual Hook & Harvest!
10 Years of CVL!

Name! That! Boat!
We’ve added a new gorgeous 38′ boat to our all-star fleet, and we want you to name it! That’s right—from now until November 10th we’ll be open to any and all suggestions!
A 1971 Warren O’Neal, she was completed refitted in 2021 from a private owner that strives for perfection, as we do, and just added to the fleet last week! She has been putting up impressive billfish numbers and this is only the start. Sea deck floors, comfortable mezzanine seating, and a wide hull, this feels like you are fishing on a much larger boat. Plus, she’s the only one in this size category to have an AC cabin.
DM us on our Social Media or Click HERE to send in your suggestions; you can also send an email to info@casaviejalodge.com!
Please, keep it Nauti but classy; and above all else: keep it Casa Vieja!
Winner will get a special shoutout in next months’ newsletter so stay tuned to see what name we pick!
